Paladins: Champions of the Realm FAQ — Ping, Servers, Network

Does PingAim work with Paladins? Why is my Paladins ping so high?

Does PingAim work with Paladins?

Yes. PingAim routes Paladins traffic through your best available network connection using a WFP kernel driver — the same technology Windows Firewall uses. It does not inject into the game process, so EasyAntiCheat has no issue with it. You can add Paladins.exe in PingAim and assign it to whichever interface (5G phone tether, Ethernet, WiFi) gives you the lowest ping to Hi-Rez servers.

Why is my Paladins ping so high?

The most common causes are: wrong server region selected (check the flag icon next to the Play button), WiFi interference causing jitter spikes, background apps consuming upload bandwidth, or your ISP routing traffic suboptimally to Hi-Rez's datacenters. Start by pressing F9 in a match to see your actual ping, then check whether it's consistently high (routing issue) or spiky (congestion or WiFi). If you have a second internet connection like a phone on 5G, PingAim can route Paladins through it to find a better path.

What server regions does Paladins have?

Paladins has four server regions: North America (US East), Europe (Frankfurt, Germany), Brazil (São Paulo), and Australia (Sydney). You can select your region manually via the flag button next to the Play menu. There is no dedicated Southeast Asia server — SEA players are routed to the Australia region. LATAM South players outside Brazil should test both Brazil and NA servers to determine which gives lower ping.

Does Paladins have lag compensation?

Yes. Paladins uses server-authoritative netcode with lag compensation, meaning the server accounts for your ping when resolving hit registration. At moderate ping (under ~100ms), shots and abilities that appear to connect on your screen will generally register correctly. Above that threshold, desync between client-side prediction and server state becomes noticeable, particularly for fast-moving champions and beam-based healer abilities.

Is using a VPN or network optimizer against Paladins rules?

Hi-Rez does not explicitly ban VPN or network optimizer use in Paladins. Multiple community sources confirm that VPNs work without triggering EasyAntiCheat or account bans, provided the IP isn't flagged for prior abuse. PingAim is not a VPN — it routes your game traffic through a different network interface on your own PC without creating a tunnel or encrypting traffic, which makes it even less likely to trigger any detection.

What is Paladins' server tick rate?

Paladins runs at approximately 20-30 Hz based on community packet analysis — the server updates game state roughly 20-30 times per second. Hi-Rez has not published an official figure. This is lower than Overwatch 2 (60 Hz) and significantly lower than Valorant (128 Hz). At this tick rate, a 20ms ping improvement can mean the difference between your ability registering in the current tick or the next one — which is why consistent, low-jitter connections matter more than raw ping numbers.

PingAim detects Paladins: Champions of the Realm automatically

No manual config. PingAim identifies Paladins: Champions of the Realm by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.
