Does PingAim work with RuneScape?
Yes. PingAim auto-detects rs2client.exe and routes its TCP traffic through your optimal network interface using a WFP kernel driver. It is fully compatible with Jagex's anti-cheat — PingAim operates at the Windows network stack level and does not modify the RuneScape client in any way.
Does ping matter in RuneScape with the 600ms tick system?
It depends on what you're doing. For casual play, skilling, and questing, the tick system makes RuneScape very forgiving — any ping below ~300ms typically lands in the same tick window. However, for endgame PvM bosses (Telos, Arch-Glacor, Zamorak, Raksha), ping matters significantly. A lag spike that pushes a prayer switch or defensive ability past a tick boundary can mean a full 600ms delay — enough for a hard-hitting boss mechanic to land and kill you.
What is a good ping for RuneScape?
Below 100ms is excellent. 100-200ms is playable for most content. Above 200ms starts to cause noticeable action delays and the RuneScape Wiki warns against dangerous activities (bosses, PvP, Barrows) with high ping. For tick-perfect endgame PvM, aim for under 80ms.
Why is my ping high even on fast internet?
Internet speed and ping are different things. High ping is caused by your ISP routing packets through inefficient paths to Jagex's servers. Even on a 1 Gbps connection, if your ISP routes through 15 hops instead of 5, or through congested international links, your ping will be high. RuneScape connects directly to Jagex's UK/US datacenters with no relay network — so your ISP's path quality is the entire factor.
Can I get banned for using a network optimizer in RuneScape?
No. Network optimizers like PingAim, WTFast, and ExitLag work at the Windows network level and are transparent to Jagex's server-side bot detection. Jagex's anti-cheat (Botwatch) detects behavioral patterns in your in-game actions — not how your IP packets are routed to their servers. There are no reports of bans for using network optimization tools.
Which RuneScape world should I play on?
Select the world region closest to your physical location: UK worlds for European players, US worlds for North American players, and Australian worlds for Oceanian players. Open the World Switcher (W key) to see ping values per world and pick the lowest in your region.
