Dark Souls III has 2 server regions worldwide.
Global (excluding Japan)
North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, South America, Africa High population All non-Japanese players are placed in one global matchmaking pool. There is no sub-regional server separation — a Brazilian player and a Swedish player are equally likely to be matched together. Japan
Japan Medium population Japan is the only separate matchmaking region. Cross-region play can be enabled in Network Settings to match with Japanese players. Connection: Peer-to-peer (P2P)
Game sessions are hosted by one of the players (the "host"). Your ping depends on your connection to that player, not to a fixed data center.
