Does PingAim work with Conan Exiles?
Yes. PingAim uses a WFP (Windows Filtering Platform) kernel driver to route ConanSandbox.exe traffic through a lower-latency network path. WFP operates at the Windows network stack level — no DLL injection, no process modification, nothing that BattlEye monitors or flags. PingAim routes the game's UDP traffic (port 7777) through whichever of your connected interfaces reaches the G-Portal server with the lowest latency and jitter. It works on official Funcom servers and community servers.
Why do I rubber-band in Conan Exiles even with decent average ping?
Two separate things cause rubber-banding in Conan Exiles: your ping to the server, and the server's own performance (server FPS). Check both with ToggleDebugHUD — open the console with ~ or Insert, type ToggleDebugHUD. The overlay shows your ping AND server FPS (SFPS). If server FPS is below 15, everyone on that server is rubber-banding regardless of their individual ping — the server is overloaded and no client-side fix helps. If your ping is high but server FPS is healthy (20+), the problem is your connection, and that's where tools like PingAim help.
How much does ping matter in Conan Exiles compared to other games?
More than in many games, because Conan Exiles uses a fully server-authoritative engine with no client-side prediction and no lag compensation. When you place a building piece, swing a weapon, open inventory, or pick up an item, the action goes to the server and the result comes back — there's no local 'prediction' to mask that round-trip. At 50ms this is nearly imperceptible. At 150ms the delay is visible in every interaction. At 250ms+, building placement fails, combat swings miss their windows, and inventory interactions become unreliable. This is why the Conan Exiles community specifically requests maximum-ping enforcement on PvP servers.
Is BattlEye going to block PingAim?
No. BattlEye's kernel driver focuses on detecting memory manipulation, DLL injection, and unauthorized access to the game process. PingAim's WFP driver operates at the Windows network stack layer — it never touches the game process, never injects code, and never reads or writes game memory. From BattlEye's perspective, PingAim is invisible. Network path optimization tools including WTFast have been used with Conan Exiles for years without BattlEye bans.
Why does my ping spike when entering densely built areas?
Dense player bases contain hundreds or thousands of physics-enabled objects that the server must simulate and stream to nearby clients. When you load into a large base, the server has to process all of those entities and send their state to your client simultaneously. This creates two effects: your ping spikes as more data competes for bandwidth, and server FPS drops as the server struggles to process everything at tick rate. The network spike part (sudden ping increase) is where a stable second connection helps — a congestion-free path reduces the chance of packet loss and queuing delay during the burst.
Does Conan Exiles use Steam Datagram Relay like other Steam games?
No. Conan Exiles connects clients directly to G-Portal game server IPs without routing through Valve's SDR relay network. Official server IPs are visible in BattleMetrics and other server tracking tools. Your network path to the server is entirely determined by your ISP and any tools you use — there is no Valve backbone optimization already working on your behalf.
Will PingAim help during PvP raid windows?
It can, specifically on the network side. PvP raid windows are timed and every interaction counts — breaching doors, looting, combat. PingAim routes ConanSandbox.exe through a second connection (phone 5G or a second ISP line) to provide a more stable and less congested path during the raid window. If your primary connection is congested by household traffic during evening hours, switching to 5G tethering for the raid window duration is a real improvement. What PingAim can't fix is server-side lag — if the server is overloaded, everyone lags regardless.
