Does PingAim work with Nightingale?
Yes. Nightingale has no anti-cheat system, so PingAim's WFP driver works without any compatibility concerns. PingAim routes Nightingale.exe traffic through whichever of your network connections — phone 5G, Ethernet, or WiFi — reaches the GPORTAL dedicated server with the lowest latency and jitter. Since Nightingale moved to dedicated servers in July 2025, your connection now goes to a specific geographic datacenter, making path optimization meaningful.
Why does my co-op partner rubber-band in Nightingale?
Rubber-banding in co-op has two causes: your connection to the server, or your partner's connection to the server. Nightingale uses Unreal Engine 5's server-authoritative model — all player positions are managed by the dedicated server and sent to each client. If your partner has high jitter or packet loss, their position updates arrive irregularly, causing their character to snap or rubber-band on your screen. A second connection via PingAim helps if the issue is on your end; ask your partner to check their ping and switch to a wired connection if possible.
Nightingale switched to dedicated servers — does that change how PingAim works?
Yes, in a good way. Before July 2025, all Nightingale connections were routed through Inflexion's proprietary relay infrastructure — there was limited visibility into the actual server path. After the switch to GPORTAL dedicated servers, your client connects directly to a specific server IP in a known datacenter. PingAim can now route Nightingale's UDP traffic (port 7777) through your fastest available connection to that specific IP, giving you full control over which network path your game traffic takes.
Does Nightingale have anti-cheat that could interfere with PingAim?
No. Nightingale does not use any anti-cheat system — not EasyAntiCheat, not BattlEye, nothing. This makes sense for a co-op-only game with no PvP. PingAim's WFP driver and all other routing methods are fully safe to use with Nightingale.
What ping do I need for smooth co-op in Nightingale?
Under 80ms to the server is comfortable for all activity including combat. 80-150ms is playable but combat becomes noticeably less responsive and other players may occasionally rubber-band. Above 150ms, interactions with crafting stations and the environment feel sluggish, and co-op synchronization visibly suffers. Since Nightingale is co-op with no PvP, the penalty for high ping is less severe than in competitive games — but jitter (inconsistent ping) is often more disruptive than a stable higher ping.
Is Nightingale still active in 2025-2026?
Nightingale's player count dropped significantly after its 2024 early access launch — from a peak of ~47,500 concurrent players to around 900 concurrent by early 2026. The game is still actively maintained by Inflexion Games, who pivoted to dedicated servers in July 2025. The player base is small but stable, primarily consisting of players who enjoy the Victorian fantasy co-op survival genre. The GPORTAL dedicated server model allows the game to continue without requiring Inflexion to maintain server infrastructure indefinitely.
