Connection quality shown as signal bars (1-5) in the pause menu player list and as a small icon in the top-right HUD during gameplay

5 bars = excellent connection to host. 3 bars = moderate lag expected. 1-2 bars = severe lag, consider switching sessions. No exact ms value is displayed — GTA Online does not show numeric ping in-game.
