Known Lag Problems
These problems are reported by real players. If your region or ISP is listed, a network optimizer is likely to help.
Global (Denuvo auth lag at launch)
N/A for gameplay; auth check is background HTTPS- Denuvo license servers experienced high load at launch (March 19, 2026) — some players reported launch failures on day one due to auth server congestion
- No region-specific game servers at launch (single-player); any regional issue is ISP routing to Pearl Abyss auth infrastructure in Korea
How to Fix It
Try these first — they're free and solve the problem for most people.
General network tips (not Crimson Desert-specific)
01 Check if Denuvo is causing your launch failure
1. Ensure your PC is connected to the internet. 2. Try launching Crimson Desert — Denuvo performs a license check on first launch and periodically thereafter. 3. If the game fails to launch offline, connect to internet and relaunch. After the check completes, the game runs offline. 4. If launch still fails online, verify game files via Steam (right-click → Properties → Local Files → Verify).
Denuvo auth failures are the most common network-related launch issue. Requires internet for initial activation and periodic checks.
02 Fix Intel Arc GPU launch crash (Error 495309)
1. Update your Intel Arc drivers to the latest version from Intel's website. 2. Ensure Crimson Desert is fully patched (Pearl Abyss added Intel Arc support via post-launch patch). 3. If the error persists, check the official Pearl Abyss notice board at crimsondesert.pearlabyss.com for the latest known issues.
Intel Arc GPUs were unsupported at launch. This was fixed by Pearl Abyss within days of release via patch.
03 Resolve network connection errors at game launch
1. Ensure TCP port 443 (HTTPS) is not blocked by your firewall or antivirus. 2. If using a corporate or school network, VPNs may block Denuvo license servers — switch to a standard home connection. 3. Open Command Prompt and run: ipconfig /flushdns — stale DNS cache can prevent Denuvo servers from resolving. 4. Restart your PC and router, then relaunch the game.
Resolves Denuvo authentication failures that prevent the game from launching on first install or after extended offline periods.
Still lagging? The problem is likely your ISP's routing to the game servers.
PingAim detects Crimson Desert automatically
No manual config. PingAim identifies Crimson Desert by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.
