Does PingAim work with Assetto Corsa Competizione? Why do cars teleport in ACC multiplayer?

Does PingAim work with Assetto Corsa Competizione?

Yes. PingAim auto-detects acc.exe and routes its traffic through your optimal network interface using a WFP kernel driver. ACC has no anti-cheat system, so there is no risk of a ban. Because ACC connects directly to server IPs (no Valve SDR relay), PingAim optimises the full end-to-end path — not just a relay hop — which maximises the benefit.

Why do cars teleport in ACC multiplayer?

ACC has no rollback netcode. When your client misses a packet or it arrives late, it predicts where other cars are based on last known speed and direction. When the correct packet arrives, the car snaps to its real position — the 'teleport'. This is caused by high ping, packet loss, or jitter. Reducing latency and stabilising your connection directly reduces how often this happens.

What is a good ping for ACC?

Below 50ms is optimal for clean wheel-to-wheel racing. 50-80ms is acceptable with minimal teleporting. Above 80ms, cars begin to visibly snap, making close racing difficult. Above 120ms, phantom contact (your car taking damage from a car that appeared not to be nearby) becomes common. The ACC community consensus for competitive racing is under 50ms.

I have fast internet but high ping in ACC. Why?

Internet speed (bandwidth) and ping (latency) are different things. High ping means your packets are travelling slowly, usually because your ISP is routing them through an inefficient path. A 500 Mbps connection can still have 150ms ping if your ISP sends packets through extra hops. Tools like PingAim or a traceroute (run tracert <server-ip> in cmd) can reveal where the delay is occurring.

Can I get banned for using a network optimiser in ACC?

No. ACC does not have EasyAntiCheat, BattlEye, or any kernel-level anti-cheat. There is no system to detect or ban network routing tools. WTFast officially lists ACC as a supported game. PingAim uses a WFP kernel driver that operates at the Windows network layer and does not modify the game client in any way.

What ports does ACC use?

The main game traffic uses UDP port 9600 and TCP port 9601. Port 8081 (TCP) is used by the server's HTTP API for external tools and the Broadcast SDK. If you host your own ACC server, you need to forward UDP 9600 and TCP 9601 on your router.

Why is the ping impact in ACC worse than in other racing games?

ACC uses a direct IP connection model with no relay network and no lag compensation or rollback. Every millisecond of ISP routing inefficiency reaches the game directly. By comparison, games using Valve's SDR relay network have some built-in routing optimisation. ACC's uncompensated netcode also means that latency differences between drivers on the same server are directly visible — a 200ms player's car looks completely different on their screen versus everyone else's.

PingAim detects Assetto Corsa Competizione automatically

No manual config. PingAim identifies Assetto Corsa Competizione by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.
