Stardew Valley
Got a phone and WiFi? That's two connections. PingAim routes Stardew Valley through whichever has the lowest ping to your host. Your streams, downloads, and browser stay on the other. No VPN, no overhead.

Why ping matters in Stardew Valley
Latency sensitivity LowPing has only a minor effect on gameplay.
Stardew Valley is primarily a single-player farming sim with optional co-op. The game pace is slow — planting crops, talking to villagers, fishing — where 100-200ms ping is completely imperceptible. Even in the Mines where combat occurs, the timing windows are forgiving compared to action games. The biggest network-related frustration players report is disconnection from the host, not high ping.
About Stardew Valleybackground, studio, esports scene
Stardew Valley is an indie farming simulation RPG developed and published by solo developer ConcernedApe (Eric Barone), released in February 2016. Players inherit a run-down farm in the countryside and must restore it by growing crops, raising animals, mining for resources, and building relationships with the townspeople of Pelican Town. The game blends farming mechanics with dungeon crawling, crafting, fishing, and a rich storyline. It became one of the best-selling indie games of all time, selling over 30 million copies across all platforms.
Multiplayer co-op was added in version 1.3 (2018), expanded to up to 8 players on PC in version 1.6 (2024), allowing players to share a single farm over the internet or LAN. The multiplayer is host-based: one player hosts the farm and others join as farmhands. The host's machine stores the save file, meaning the farm is only accessible when the host is online. Multiplayer uses Steam networking for online play, which includes Steam's peer-to-peer relay infrastructure (Steam Datagram Relay) to handle NAT traversal between players. There are no dedicated game servers — all gameplay state is managed by the host's client.
Stardew Valley has no anti-cheat system. The game has a thriving modding community centered around SMAPI (Stardew Modding API), and mods are widely used in both single-player and co-op sessions. The game receives regular content updates from ConcernedApe, with version 1.6 (2024) expanding content, raising the multiplayer cap to 8 players on PC, and improving multiplayer stability through compressed network packets and Steam authentication.

PingAim detects Stardew Valley automatically
No manual config. PingAim identifies Stardew Valley by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.
When does PingAim help — and when doesn't it?
PingAim helps when...
- You have a phone with 5G/LTE — tether via USB to give Stardew Valley a dedicated, uncongested path to your host friend
- You have both WiFi and Ethernet — route the game through the faster one while keeping other traffic on the other
- Your WiFi is congested (Netflix, downloads) — use phone tethering to bypass household congestion for your farm session
- You play co-op with friends in another country — a second connection may offer a shorter routing path to the host
- You stream your Stardew sessions — separate game traffic from OBS/stream upload across two connections
- Windows keeps picking the wrong network interface and you want explicit control
Won't help when...
- You only have one network connection with no way to add a second
- Your connection to the host is already stable and fast
- The host has a bad internet connection — PingAim only improves your side
- You are the host yourself and your friends have slow connections — you cannot fix the farmhand's connection from your side
- Stardew Valley is P2P — PingAim routes your traffic to the host's IP, but if both you and the host have well-peered ISPs with a direct route between you, a second connection is unlikely to improve things
- Game crashes, save corruption, or bugs — not network related
