Does PingAim Help in PUBG Mobile?

More about Tencent Acehow it works · what it blocks · known conflicts
Kernel-levelBlocks DLL injectionNetwork optimizers allowed

PUBG Mobile uses Tencent's Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE) system. On Android and iOS, ACE operates via native hooks at user and kernel privilege levels, encrypting .so files to prevent reverse analysis, blocking injection attacks, and protecting game memory from external modifiers. On PC via GameLoop, ACE includes Windows-level protection with kernel-mode components. Server-side behavioral detection validates statistics, movement patterns, and aim behavior against known-impossible values. GameLoop is the only officially supported emulator — non-supported emulators trigger ACE's emulator detection and risk account bans. Root detection on Android and jailbreak detection on iOS are also active.

VPN and network optimizers

Network optimization tools (ExitLag, WTFast, GearUp Booster) are widely used with PUBG Mobile without documented bans. Tencent ACE targets game client manipulation — not network-level routing tools. VPNs are also commonly used for server region access or routing improvement. No bans have been documented from network routing tools operating at the OS or network stack level.

Known software conflicts

  • Unauthorized (non-GameLoop) Android emulators trigger emulator detection and may result in bans
  • Root access on Android may trigger ACE anti-tamper checks
  • Jailbroken iOS devices may trigger ACE detection
  • Some VPN kernel modules on rooted Android may conflict with ACE memory protection

Why ping matters in PUBG Mobile

Latency sensitivity High

Ping noticeably shapes the experience.

PUBG Mobile servers run at approximately 20 Hz tick rate — each server tick covers 50ms of real time. At 100ms ping, you are seeing game state that is two full ticks behind the server's authoritative view. The game uses client-side hit registration with server validation, meaning the server accepts shots based on what you saw on your delayed screen — enemies have already moved on the server. The combination of low tick rate and client-side hit registration makes high ping especially punishing compared to the PC version. MENA players commonly compete at 100-200ms; SEA island players at 60-150ms depending on carrier — a measurable competitive disadvantage against Korean or Singaporean players at 10-30ms.

About PUBG Mobilebackground, studio, esports scene

PUBG Mobile is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Tencent Games' LightSpeed Studios and co-developed with PUBG Studios (Krafton). Released globally on March 19, 2018, it adapts the PC battle royale formula for mobile devices: up to 100 players parachute onto large maps, scavenge weapons and gear, and fight to be the last player or team standing as a shrinking safe zone forces encounters. The game features multiple maps including Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Vikendi, Livik, and Nusa, along with seasonal content and limited-time modes. By January 2026, PUBG Mobile had accumulated approximately 1.75 billion downloads and grossed over $15 billion in lifetime revenue, making it one of the highest-grossing mobile games in history.

The game is published under different names and entities in different regions. In China, it is released as Peacekeeper Elite (Game for Peace) — a censored variant published by Tencent directly. In India, PUBG Mobile was banned in September 2020 due to data privacy concerns related to its Tencent association; Krafton relaunched a localized version called Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in 2021, which has operated continuously since May 2023. PUBG Mobile is not officially available in India. On PC, Tencent provides the official GameLoop emulator (formerly Tencent Gaming Buddy) for playing PUBG Mobile, with emulator players matched in a dedicated pool separate from mobile players.

PUBG Mobile runs a competitive esports circuit through the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL), PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO), PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO), and the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC). The PMGC 2025 drew 375,000 average concurrent viewers and offered a $3M prize pool, with Brazil's Alpha7 Esports claiming the title. The game's highest ping pain points are well documented: MENA players must route to Frankfurt, Germany — the only available server for the region — commonly experiencing 100-200ms. SEA players in Indonesia and Philippines route to Singapore with latency that varies significantly by ISP and carrier quality.

PingAim detects PUBG Mobile automatically

No manual config. PingAim identifies PUBG Mobile by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.

When does PingAim help — and when doesn't it?

PingAim helps when...

  • You play PUBG Mobile on PC via GameLoop and have a second network connection (USB-tethered phone, second ISP, Ethernet + WiFi)
  • You're in the Middle East or North Africa — routing to Frankfurt; a better-peered 5G path can reduce 20-60ms
  • You're in Philippines or Indonesia — ISP routing to Singapore varies; 5G may take a faster path
  • You stream while playing GameLoop — separate game and OBS traffic to prevent bandwidth competition
  • Your home WiFi is congested with multiple devices; phone tethering gives a dedicated gaming connection
  • Windows selects the wrong adapter for GameLoop traffic

Won't help when...

  • You play on a phone or tablet — PingAim is a Windows app; mobile requires a VPN app for routing
  • You only have one network connection with no way to add a second
  • Your connection is already under 40ms to your assigned server with low jitter
  • Desync from client-side hit registration or server-side lag compensation — a protocol/architecture issue, not your connection
  • FPS drops or thermal throttling in GameLoop — not a network issue
  • Server overload during peak hours (20:00-01:00 local prime time) — server-side, not routing

Glossary14 terms used on this page
ACE
Anti-Cheat Expert — Tencent's proprietary anti-cheat system used in PUBG Mobile and other Tencent titles. Operates at native/kernel level on mobile and Windows.
BGMI
Battlegrounds Mobile India — the India-specific version of PUBG Mobile published by Krafton without Tencent involvement. Separate game, separate servers, separate accounts.
Client-side hit registration
Hits are detected on the shooter's device, then reported to and validated by the server. At high ping, the shooter sees enemy positions that are stale — creating the 'dying behind wall' experience.
GameLoop
Tencent's official Android emulator for PC (previously Tencent Gaming Buddy). The only officially supported method to play PUBG Mobile on Windows.
ISP peering
Direct network connection agreements between your Internet Service Provider and Tencent's server infrastructure. Poor peering = more network hops and higher ping, even on fast home internet.
Level Infinite
Tencent Games' global publishing label for PUBG Mobile outside of Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.
LightSpeed Studios
The Tencent Games studio that developed PUBG Mobile (previously named LightSpeed & Quantum Studios).
MENA
Middle East and North Africa — a region with no dedicated PUBG Mobile server, forcing players to connect to Frankfurt (EU) at 100-200ms.
PMCO
PUBG Mobile Club Open — open tournament circuit for semi-professional and amateur teams.
PMGC
PUBG Mobile Global Championship — the annual world championship, highest competitive tier.
PMPL
PUBG Mobile Pro League — regional professional leagues that qualify teams for the PMGC.
Tick rate
How many times per second the server processes and broadcasts game state. PUBG Mobile runs at approximately 20 Hz — each tick covers 50ms of real time.
UDP
User Datagram Protocol — fast, connectionless network protocol used for real-time game traffic.
WFP
Windows Filtering Platform — Windows kernel API for network traffic management. Used by PingAim to route GameLoop traffic at the OS level.
