Palworld

Got a phone and WiFi? PingAim pins Palworld to one interface while everything else stays on the other — less contention during base raids, smoother Pal capture, more stable session over long play.

Why ping matters in Palworld

Latency sensitivity Medium

Ping matters but is not the dominant factor.

Palworld is a survival sandbox, not a competitive FPS — the gameplay loop of building bases, farming, and exploring is forgiving of moderate latency (per ITU-T G.1010 latency-sensitivity classes for non-twitch action games). However, PvP combat and base raids are noticeably affected above 100ms, with character rubberbanding and delayed Pal capture animations. Inventory interactions (picking up items, placing structures) feel sluggish on high-latency connections. The bigger concern for Palworld players is connection stability: getting kicked or disconnected mid-session can cause progress loss, especially on official servers.

About Palworldbackground, studio, esports scene

Palworld is an open-world multiplayer survival and crafting game developed and published by Japanese indie studio Pocketpair. Released into early access on January 19, 2024 simultaneously on Steam and Xbox Game Pass, the game broke records by reaching over 2 million concurrent Steam players within its first week — a Steam all-time peak second only to Counter-Strike 2. Players explore a vast world, capture creature companions called Pals, build bases, craft weapons, farm, and fight — all in a persistent open world that supports up to 32 players on a dedicated server or 4 players in co-op sessions hosted from the game client.

Palworld runs on Unreal Engine 5 and uses a standard UE5 dedicated-server architecture. The game's networking is client-authoritative by default (a known limitation Pocketpair has acknowledged), meaning server-side validation is limited — a design choice that has made cheating on official and community servers a recurring problem. The developers have incrementally introduced server-side anti-cheat measures starting with patch v0.3.7 (mid-2024) and partnered with Tencent Cloud as the official multiplayer server provider for Japan and Asia-Pacific regions.

Despite a significant post-launch player drop-off following the viral launch period, Palworld maintains a stable playerbase driven by regular content updates. The Feybreak update in December 2025 brought a resurgence to over 200,000 concurrent Steam players. The game remains one of the best-selling indie titles in Steam history and continues active development with planned PvP modes and ongoing multiplayer improvements.

PingAim detects Palworld automatically

No manual config. PingAim identifies Palworld by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.

When does PingAim help — and when doesn't it?

PingAim helps when...

  • Phone 5G tethering available — route game traffic through mobile data when home internet is congested
  • Both WiFi and Ethernet active — ensures Palworld-Win64-Shipping.exe uses the faster wired connection
  • Streaming base raids on one connection, playing on another — keeps broadcast from causing rubberbanding
  • Evening peak-hour congestion causing jitter and packet loss during multiplayer sessions
  • Dual-WAN setup — PingAim selects the lower-latency path to your server region
  • Windows assigned the wrong default interface after a network change
  • Connecting to Japan/Asia official servers from North America or Europe where every latency reduction helps

Won't help when...

  • Only one network connection available — second interface required to reroute traffic
  • Already under 80ms to a nearby server with stable connection — survival sandbox threshold met
  • FPS drops and stutters caused by server CPU overload — server performance, not routing
  • Playing single-player or local co-op — no server traffic involved
