Blade & Soul

Got a phone and WiFi? That's two connections. PingAim routes Blade & Soul NEO through whichever has the lowest ping to the NA or EU servers. Your browser, Discord, and stream stay on the other connection.

Does PingAim Help in Blade & Soul?

Blade & Soul NEO uses EasyAntiCheat (EAC), owned by Epic Games. The EAC component is located in the BNS_Neo/bin/EasyAntiCheat folder. The original Blade & Soul (pre-2024 Western version) used nProtect GameGuard. EAC runs a kernel-level driver on Windows.

VPN and network optimizers

No official policy against network optimizers. EAC does not block VPNs or network routing tools by design. Players from outside NA/EU regions regularly use network accelerators (LagoFast, GearUp, etc.) to connect to BNS NEO servers without bans.

Why ping matters in Blade & Soul

Latency sensitivity High

Ping noticeably shapes the experience.

Blade & Soul's action combat system relies on tight reaction windows — iframes (invincibility frames), parries, and counter-attacks have precise timing windows of a few hundred milliseconds. In arena PvP, a 100ms ping increase can make the difference between landing a counter and eating full damage. Dungeon raids require precise positioning and mechanic execution where a disconnect or rubber-band can wipe the group. The game is more forgiving than a pure PvP fighting game, but noticeably less forgiving than traditional tab-target MMOs.

About Blade & Soulbackground, studio, esports scene

Blade & Soul is a free-to-play action MMORPG developed by NCSoft, originally released in South Korea in June 2012. The game is set in a martial arts fantasy world and features a real-time combat system built around combos, counters, and class-specific skill chains — more akin to an action game than traditional tab-targeting MMOs. Players progress through a story-driven world, run dungeons, and compete in arena and battleground PvP modes. The game ran on Unreal Engine 3 for most of its life and was rebuilt on Unreal Engine 4 for the Blade & Soul NEO relaunch.

The original Western (NA/EU) version of Blade & Soul, operated by NCSOFT West, shut down on February 29, 2024. The game was relaunched as Blade & Soul NEO on February 25, 2025, a rebuilt UE4 version of the original game content, and this version remains active on NA and EU servers as of April 2026 (server merges occurred in mid-2025). Korean and Taiwanese versions continue to operate independently. The Japanese version of both Blade & Soul and Blade & Soul NEO shut down in March 2026. The game uses EasyAntiCheat in its NEO version and has a dedicated server infrastructure operated by NCSoft.

PingAim detects Blade & Soul automatically

No manual config. PingAim identifies Blade & Soul by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.

When does PingAim help — and when doesn't it?

PingAim helps when...

  • You play on NA or EU servers from Southeast Asia, Oceania, or Latin America — route through a lower-latency second connection
  • You have a phone with 5G/LTE — tether via USB to give the game a dedicated path
  • You have both WiFi and Ethernet — let PingAim send BNSR.exe through whichever is faster
  • Your household connection is congested — use phone tethering to bypass it for dungeon runs
  • You stream while playing — PingAim separates BNS traffic from OBS traffic onto different interfaces
  • Windows picks the wrong network interface for the game and you want explicit control

Won't help when...

  • You only have one network connection with no way to add a second
  • Your connection is already fast and stable (under 50ms to your region's server)
  • The lag is server-side — NCSoft infrastructure issues that no routing tool can fix
  • FPS drops or stutters (CPU/GPU performance issue, not network)
